Liberty Of The Seas Bomb Threat

Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines - Liberty Of The Seas in Port of Miami, Florida - May 15, 2010

A bomb threat was called into the Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines' reservation office in Witchita, Kansas on Saturday May 15, 2010. The caller said the cruise ship Liberty Of The Seas had a bomb aboard.

Liberty Of The Seas was coming back from a 7-night Caribbean cruise when the bomb threat was called in. The cruise ship had been to St. Maarten, San Juan, Puerto Rico and Labadee, Hispanola more commonly known as Haiti.

The United States Coast Guard, the FBI and Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection agents boarded Liberty Of The Seas and performed an extensive search of the ship.

The ship was escorted into the Port Of Miami, Florida at 0600 hours and then resumed operations.
