An electrical fire broke out inside the UPS battery room aboard Celebrity Cruises' Celebrity Summit, in the vicinity of the starboard side steering gear.

The cause of the fire was due to a short circuit on the starboard POD steering pump (#1 UPS battery).

All batteries in the vicinity of the incident were removed from the starboard UPS rack and transferred to a safe area.
